The second and final phase of New Jersey’s 2025 black bear hunt is officially underway this week, following a first segment that saw hundreds of bears harvested across the state but many are questioning if enough bears will be harvested or if the hunt will end up being extended. Wildlife officials say the hunt remains a key tool for managing a growing population, while opponents continue to call for an end to the practice. Brianne Hailey Killeen reports.
