For the third time this week, flames broke out at a home on Shalebrook Drive in Harding Township yesterday morning. Fire crews were back on the scene yesterday, working quickly to contain the large blaze.
A similar fire had occurred at the residence on Monday afternoon but rekindled on Wednesday and again yesterday. Now, investigators say they are working to determine what’s behind these back-to-back fires.
“We initially responded on Monday, there was a fire call then - they were out here again, third time, put the fire down and now everyone’s still on scene trying to find the route cause for the fire,” said Chief Michael Gromek, Harding Township Police. “Our main concern was everytime we got here just to make sure no one was in the house.”
Because this house is positioned on the top of a hill, authorities say they needed to transport water up in tanker trucks to battle the blaze.
“They have to bring them all up here, feed into pools, and then the fire trucks feed off that draft water into the house,” said Chief Michael Gromek, Harding Township Police.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Firefighters continue to monitor the area as the investigation unfolds.
